CIDP (IVIG)
(Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy)
On May 2/2023, I checked into Langley Hospital. I spent
two weeks there before being transferred to Surrey
Hospital's Neurology ward. It took them four weeks
of testing, where they diagnosed me with CIDP.
I was given infusions of the following three things.....

Albumin: Albumin enters your bloodstream and helps keep fluid from leaking out of your blood vessels into other tissues. It is also carries hormones, vitamins, and enzymes throughout your body. Without enough albumin, fluid can leak out of your blood and build up in your lungs, abdomen (belly), or other parts of your body. | |

IVIG: Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIG) is a pooled antibody, and a biological agent used to manage various immunodeficiency states and a plethora of other conditions, including autoimmune, infectious, and inflammatory states. The ultimate goal of this therapy is to normalize a compromised immune system. | |

Red Blood Cells: The red blood cell's main function is to carry oxygen from the lungs and deliver it throughout our body. Red blood cells also transport waste such as carbon dioxide back to our lungs to be exhaled. Red blood cells can carry oxygen due to a protein called hemoglobin |

Loading Dose: Day 1 (1 infusion) Day 2 (2 infusions) Day 3 (2 infusions) Day 4 (3 infusions) Day 5 (2 infusions) Day 6 (2 infusions) 3 days off 1 infusion Then infusions every 4 weeks |
