Today I focused on getting the right side mounts out. I borrowed my dad's
reciprocating saw last week, which went ok, until I got
the mount at the front of the cab; it was in good shape, so I had to cut
right through the bushing. This didn't go as I intended, so I
ended up cutting away the bushing. With the bushing out of the way, part
of the sleeve was in my way and I couldn't get rid of it. This
just slowed me down, but I eventually got it cut and out f there. I placed
the poly bushings in position, along with a "shim" of 3/16"
stock that I quickly cut up. The stock will be replaced with 3/16" spacers
which will go on the bottom of the bushing. These spacers
are required as the repair in the rear corner will involve 3/16" plate, so this will keep everything sitting where it should.
Started the day by mounting the plug for my jumper cables.
Then I removed what was left of the factory battery tray and the bracket that supports the
charcoal canister; this gives me the room I need to make my new battery tray/support.
I had to grind it all away.
The charcoal canister support all painted up.
The right mount at the front of the cab.
The next mount towards the rear.
And the second to last mount.
All the old mounts from the right side.
