Scenic picture.

Checking out some animal tracks in the snow.

Looking down on Norrish Creek from about 3000' feet.

Almost at the top.

Almost at the top.

Ok, here's where it gets ugly.....

Cracked transfercase!
3500' and the wind blowing like crazy; must have been at least -10 up there. Doug pulled
the rear driveshaft and the transfercase, and I pulled him down the mountain. About half
way down he ran over the tug strap; it ripped the left front brake hose and bent the
corner of his bumper. After "vice gripping" the hose, we continued on our way, stopping
at the gas station at Sylvester Road and Lougheed Hwy to call a tow truck.

You know this cost a few bucks.

Turns out there was a tiny little mouse sitting on top of the
front differential. That was a 65km ride in the  freezing cold.
It bailed as soon as the truck was back on the ground.

Here's the damaged 208 transfercase.

The result of the front driveshaft being to long.

Ugly!

Definatley need a new transfercase.
