The memorial site of a fellow wheeler that had a fatal accident on this
road this past New Year's Eve.
I believe this is where the accident occured.
This appears to be the path that Search & Rescue used to recover
his vehicle.
Nothing interesting now, but at the time there were lots of rocks
tumbling down the hill.
Playing on a pile of gravel at the Cogburn Creek FSR junction.

Time for some snow boots. This is the "old" road to the Clear Creek
Hotsprings.
The road appeared to end at this point.
The snow made it hard to see where we needed to go.
A little rpm was required to get out.
Indir got himself stuck trying to turn around just past the Hotsprings.
Welcome to the Clear Creek Hotsprings.
Must have been left behind by the road crew.
This was a narrow part of the road due to a rock slide; you are looking
straight down into
a ravine.
I think I had a few inches to spare.
Scenery time; a bridge crossing Big Silver Creek.
Morgan's view getting out of the truck.

It was a bit of a hike down here, but well worth it; looking down Big
Silver Creek
The rock has been cut by the water over many years.

It was now around 4:00 pm, and Indir had to pull his right front hub
as it was making noises. He couldn't fix it so he put it back together,
and we headed for home. We returned the way we came, as the road had
2-3" of fresh snow on top of 4-6" of packed snow,
and it was slick. I had also read that the road was blocked by a rock
slide close to Boston Bar.
It was a good thing we left when we did, as it started snowing
shortly after we turned around. In fact, it snowed all the
way back to Harrison Hot Springs; there was close to 2" on the ground,
where there was none earlier in the day.
