In addition to what Berne said, the only other problem people have in cold weather is icing in the air lines, especially since they are pretty small.  When I worked there we recommended and good shot of WD-40 into the compressor tank in the winter (not sure how a true deicer would do with the seals) to keep the lines clear. Generally speaking, most of the people we saw who had ARB problem, also had engine problems, tranny problems, brake problems, instrument problems, seat adjustment problems, etc...  You get the picture. Rade 2008/7/4 Berne Strom : I've heard that as well.....but think most of those low temp issues could be solved by keeping the diff clean/serviced....and using a good synthetic oil...     2008/7/4 Chris : Yes, I have seriously considered that option, and haven't ruled it out... And that is the reason I looked at the ECTED because what I want is a "Limited Slip" and the ECTED diff has it with the bonus of being lockable.  In other words I wasn't looking for a locker, would be nice to have but not necessary.    The ARB specifically gets a lot of complaints over here in the winter, not because they aren't strong, but for not actuating when it gets real cold.   I know of about 8 that have been pulled and replaced with Detroit's(or---) in the last 3 years.     Chris   ----- Original Message ---- From: Jim Hayes To: Trailtech stuff Sent: Friday, July 4, 2008 1:28:52 AM Subject: RE: Mostly street LSD ARB... duh 78 Bronco XLT http://www.supermotors.org/clubs/2bigbroncosnorthwest/registry/vehicles/detail.php?id=605 Date: Thu, 3 Jul 2008 06:48:37 -0700 From: bigblock4xford@yahoo.com Subject: Mostly street LSD To: trailtech@quantumcc.com I'm going to be building a commuter truck for this winter. 1994 Ranger 4WD. I'm fishing for ideas on a Limited slip for the rear. I had thought about using the ECTED in the 8.8 but I am hearing from the local installer that they don't hold up to 35's. This truck will be mostly on the street, and wheeled in the snow. I could do a locker but at 80-miles in length for my commute I would mostly be using the locker to wearout tires... The old 'tracloc' is becoming the option...   Anyone have any other ideas?   C _______________________________________________ Trailtech mailing list _______________________________________________ Trailtech mailing list
