Door Molding
The left front door molding started to come off a few weeks ago.
It slowly got worse and worse, until it became an eye sore.
Here is how I fixed it.....
The un-stuck molding.
Molding removed.
The molding has two alignment pins that go into holes in the door.
The bottom of the molding sits in a channel at the bottom of the door.
Backside of the molding
Frontside of the molding showing the lip that goes in to the channel on
the door.
Old double-sided tape removed from the door. I kneaded the old
tape off by hand, then cleaned the surface with brake clean.
Old double-sided tape removed from molding and new Pro-Form
double-sided tape applied.
The old double sided tape.
Molding re-installed. Normally I use a heatgun when
doing this type
of work, but it was very warm today so I used the sun as my heatgun.
