Snow Tires

I was looking for some black steel wheels to mount my snow tires to, but couldn't find any for a reasonable price. I was also selling
my Tri-Star wheels after I found some Torque-Stars, but I didn't want to spend a bunch more money, so I decided to just keep the
Tri-Star's and use them for my snow tires. I wanted to paint them black to tone down their ugliness, but I didn't have the time. This
will be on next year's "To Do" list.

Anyways, I mounted and balanced the snow's a few weeks back (thanks Doug), but was waiting for December to come around before
puttng them on the car. Well, yesterday morning I heard on the news that a winter storm was heading our way and could drop up to
10-15 cm, so I went outside and swapped the snow tires on the car right away.

Mounted and balanced; Wanli Snow Grip.

Pretty much brand new. I bought these last year and had them on the
T-Bird for a few months. The traction in the snow was amazing.

A tad on the small side, but they'll do the job. Stock size is 225/60/16, and the snow's are 215/60/16.

I wanted to paint the wheels black last year, before getting them mounted, but didn't have time. I picked up some
wheel paint yesterday, and the sun is out today, so here we go.....

The ugly wheel.

Plastikote #620 wheel paint, and 3M #07447 red scotch-brite pad.

Cleaned, scuffed, masked and ready for paint.

Coat #2 and done painting.

Three more to go and I'm ready for the snow.

I will post pictures when these go on the car, which will be another month or so.
