Cargo cover "catch" required to keep the cover in place.

The Mazda retractable rear cargo cover is an available option for the 2007-2015 CX-9's, but is noted, "NOT FOR VEHICLES WITH POWER LIFTGATE OPTION".
Why? Two reasons.
1) The left rear interior panel is slightly bulkier to clear the lift mechanism, so the cover touches the panel a bit.
2) The left rear interior panel has no access hole to mount a catch to (like the right side).
3) The left catch won't sit as flush as the right side, due to the different angle of the panel.
If you don't mind the rubbing, and cutting a hole in the panel, you can use the Mazda cargo cover.

Remove the tonneau cover cap on the left and right side.
Insert ends of cargo cover.
