13mm wrench "modified to access the upper ball mount nut.




Drill with 5/16" drill bit.



    
Remove the liner, drill out the holes for the push-pins to 5/16" and install the ball mounts.



    
Re-install the liner and install the struts.

* after installing both struts, the hood would not close.
* removed one strut and was able to close the hood.
* will try and find struts with less pressure




Test run with the left strut only.
