Found this online; shows the tab that holds the roof rail cover in place.

Bag of 6 drip caps from Mazda.
March 20/2020
Drip caps ready to go on.
Pry back the roof rail covers, then lift up.
Rail removed.
One of the roof rail mount points cleaned up and drip cap installed.
Roof rack heading to storage.
All done. Gives the car a sleaker/lower look, which is what I was looking for.

Had to replace a missing drip cap.
