These caps are not going anywhere.
Unfortunately I didn't get the long shaft done. Upon trying to install the u-joint, we noticed that one of the ears was bent inward
by over an 1/8". We managed to bend it back (as a temporary measure), but then found that one of the holes was oblonged
pretty bad. At that point it was off to the coffee shop.
Once again, I owe a big thanks to Indir for helping me out!
I'll get a new shaft ordered up and keep pluging away.
