Whipsaw 2008 Planning

** Update, July 1/08
This event is over and was a huge success. Check it out.

( Departing Page )

Countdown to departure day:

This page will have as much info as possible regarding "Whipsaw 2008" (
thread on BC4x4 ).  The trip is from June 27th to July 1st.

This will be a "family friendly" trip. There will be adults and kids of all ages. Drinking is aloud, but drunken-ness will not be tollerated.
Know your limit and stay within it. We want EVERYBODY to have a good time.

The plan is to drive to Princeton, fuel up, double back about 12km to the start of the trail, and head for Wells Lake. . Round trip should be
around 600-700km, with the off-road portion being about 150km.
The trail can get very very slippery, and we are recommending that you
have at least 33" m/t's and atleast one locker.  We
will be driving at about 5500' to 6000' for quite a while, so caburated vehicles will
run like crap.
Camp is about 5 hours from civilization, so come prepaired.

For the drive home, we
will continue on to Coalmont, head towards Tulameen, then cut across to the Coquihalla toll booth, and back down to Hope

Minimum requirements are:

front and rear tow hooks (hitch balls don't count)
33" m/t tires and working full size spare
at least one locker
CB radio
key for locking lug nuts
tow strap
all reliability issues fixed (ie: that funny sounding clunk that you hear when you turn left)

Make sure you "Post Your Whipsaw Ride" on BC4x4 if you are attending.

There will be a pig-roast on Saturday night, and will be pot luck, so bring a side dish and enjoy.
Please advise on what side dish you will be bringing.
