HID Headlights

I had HID's in the T-Bird and loved them. After having the Grand Prix for four months now,  I found that I really missed
not having HID's, so I broke down and got a set last week. Here is the install.....

Hood up and ready to roll.

Headlamp housings and bulbs removed.

I went with the Beamers HID-9007-M2-6K kit.

The kit comes with motorized hi/low beam bulbs, slim digital ballasts and a relayed wiring harness. The terminals in the plug
that goes to the factory headlight plug were in the wrong position, so I removed them and moved them match. Without doing
this, the hi-beams were on all the time, and the hi-beam indicator was dimly illuminated when in the low-beam position.

The bulbs.

One bulb installed in the headlamp housing.

Ballasts mounted behind the bumper. I used brake clean to prep the surface, and a heat gun to warm
things up to ensure the double sided tape adhered properly.

Ignitors tied to the factory harness.

All wiring hooked and ready for the headlamp housings to go back into place.

I had to drill and tap a hole for the relay and left ground, but there was
already a ground bolt on the right side, so I used that.

All done.

It started to rain, so I quickly hooked the power wire to the battery. I'll finish that up on the next dry day.

See Alarm Headlight Flash to see how to disable the alarm from flashing the headlights and  killing your ballasts'.
