Chrome Delete
The CX-9 has way too much chrome for my liking. Here is how I got rid ofit....

Phase 1: paint chrome strip on lower grille
Before.
Some cardboard to prevent overspray and some matte black wheel paint.
Note: black Plasti Dip was on covid backorder.
1 light first coat and 2 heavy coats.
All done.
August 1/2020
Phase 2: paint emblems on lower part of tailgate white.
Plasti Dip white, glossifier and clear.
I was painting the tail lights, so took advantage of the already masked work area.
First coat, light.
4 coats of white, 3 coats of glossifier and 3 coats of clear.
The masking came of very easy. Just needed a few minutes of detail work.
All Done.
August 3/2020
Phase 3: paint chrome fog light trim and chrome upper grille strip.
Plasti Dip white, glossifier and clear.
Masked, cleaned and ready for paint/
Coat #1.
Coat #1.
Coat #4 of the white.
One minor blemish; the Plasti Dip lifted up on this corner when I was removing the tape. I sprayed two more coats on this corner.
