Freedom! Hospital wrist band removed. No more
iv therapy. I now have a weeks worth of oral antibiotics.

Took my car for a drive. Felt so good to get back
behind the wheel again, and was easier than expected
to use my left foot on the gas pedal. Now to work on
getting me and the wheelchair in the car, by myself.

My thoughts about getting myself into the car by
myself have been to wheel myself to the back of the
car, open the tailgate, sit on the bumper, fold the
wheelchair, lift it into the cargo area, fold open the
walker, "walker" myself to the drivers door, get in the car,
fold up the walker, and put the walker in back seat.

After my drive today, Mom asked if there was a seat
that you could get for the walker, then I could use the
walker to sit outside of the car, which would make
folding and putting the wheelchair in the car easier.

I did some Googling, and found that they are
available. The problem is they cost upwards of
$60US, and this is only a temporary procedure.

Could I make something? Maybe a piece of
plywood? Hmmmm. I then looked over at my walker,
then at the wood (practice) step dad made me, and
came up with an idea.

Here is the idea. Just need some "L" brackets to
keep the wood in place. Now for some garage time.

After dinner I got the iWalk dialed in and went for a
walk (with the assistance of my walker). It felt wierd,
so will take some more practice time.

Hodgson Orthotics. Back to the shrinker socks. Been wearing
a compression sleeve for about a week, and today I got two
new shrinker socks; one size smaller than before.

Spent some quality time with mom today. Helped
her "hem fuse" the cut-off leg of my jeans; it was

Yesterday I noticed that the bottom of stumpy was more
purple than it should be, so I left the shrinker sock off
overnight. This morning I reached out to my prosthetist,
and he said to see my doctor, so I did. He put me on an
oral antibiotic, and sent me for bloodwork and an x-ray.
Stay tuned for the results.

I saw my blood work results online, but nothing abnormal,
that I can see. My doctors office called to set up a phone
appointment for Saturday, to discuss the results.

Home Health Care. They cleaned off most of the sluff
to help the wound heal faster.
