Consult with the
Rapid Access Pain Clinic about my lower
back pain.
As per my MRI from last December, I have compression in my
L4 and L5 vertebrae. I also suffer from random weakness in
my left leg. Apparently this is (at least partially) a result of
the spine compression.
The doctor believes this is a result of my leg amputation; I am
misaligned, and things are being pinched, affecting my left leg.
He will send his report to my GP, where him and I will have a
discussion on how to move forward with this.
July
9/2025
Follow up with GP on the back pain.
After a long talk, I will be moving forward with pain clinic (spinal
injection) as well as getting back to physiotherapy.
Hopefully the injection will mask the pain while physio helps
me strengthen the area.
And because this may be from my amputation, I will be talking to
my prosthetist to see what he has to say.

Hodgson Orthopedics.
Added some height (2mm), and brought my foot inward for a
tighter footprint.
My prosthetist is going to reach out to Queens Park to see if they
will consider taking me in for some physiotherapy. Fingers crossed.

Rapid Access Pain Clinic.
First corticosteroid injection for my back pain. That was very unpleasant.
After the injection, I went home and layed down for a few hours.
When I got up, so much of the back pain was gone. Wow!
July
18/2025
Woke up to minimal back pain. Cool!
After breakfast I did some stretching & crunches. The back pain
has prevented me from doing this.
I find myself beeing very cautious, as I'm used to being in pain
and things hurting when I move.
And to be clear, my lower back pain is minimized, but I still have all
the other pains from my CIDP and Diabetes. The lower back
pain was so bad that it took my attention away from the other pains.

Hodgson Orthopedics. Now that I am a bit more active, I've
noticed a sloppy fitting socket. My liners are 30 months old
and the sleeve is 12 months old, so are overdue to be replaced.
The liners have to be ordered in, but I did walk out with a new,
more durable sleeve. And it came in black, which I like because
I've had grey for the past five years.

Picked up dinner. I carried this in my left hand, cane in the right
hand, and stepped off the curb.
August 2/2025
Third corticosteroid injection in my back. After updating the
doctor on the lack of T4, T5 pain, he did not give me the third
injention. From here I continue with my PT, and get back to my
GP if the pain returns.

A couple images of my new sleeve.

much better.

Post IVIG treat.
Since changing from getting IVIG every six weeks vs every four
weeks, I have been feeling a little off in weeks five and six.
This time, I was really off, which confirmed my thoughts that
I need to go back to four weeks. I reached out to my neurologist
today and await for his approval.
Got word from my prosthetist that Queens Park has accepted my
file and I am now on the waiting list. Yay!
August 7/2025

Follow up with surgeon on my neck. He needs to re-open things so
it will (hopefully) close and heal better.

Only one poke to get the IV in. I drank my usual amount of
water before hand, but also did a 15 minute walk on my treadmill.
Thinking that should get my veins popping. Will do it next time
to test my theory.

My icy cold reward.
September 15/2025
Dentist; cleaning.
Well that was a waste of time. I am six months overdue for
my cleaning as I lost my extended coverage and have been waiting
to get on the new government program (CDCP). My dental office
new this, yet when I walk in for my appointment today, they
tell me they opted out of the program. Nobody had the common
sense to tell the patient this in one of our many talks about me waiting
to get on the program? Come on #SmilesUnlimited, you have to do
better! To bad, because they have been good to me over the years,
but I am now looking for a new dentist.
