January 1/2025

Starting the year out right.

January 3/2025

Home Health Care.

My right foot has rotated again, more than the last time, and
much quicker. The only difference this time is that it hasn't
clicked. Off to my prosthetist, again.

Three and a half weeks later and the two dots from my last
IVIG are pretty muvh gone.

The post IVIG dots; Dec 12, Dec 28 & Jan 3.

Goint to bed last night, I noticed the silicone heal sleeve I just
got was broken (my sock was holding it in place) after wearing
it twice. It came in a pack of 4, so I put on a new one today.
Hopefully the others last a bit longer.

Mom drove me to my place so I could pick up a few things. One
of those things was my rollator; it is so much better than the
2-wheeled walker.

Another heal sleeve bites the dust. This one lastest three days.

Jim Pattison Centre for IVIG (Privigen).

Treat time. Forgot to take a picture, but the Coke slurpee hit
the spot.

Because I had IVIG today, no Home Health Care. That means I
had to change the bandage myself.

January 8/2025

Hodgson Orthopedic; foot adjustment. Turns out the tube clamp
he put on two visits ago was faulty and wasn't clamping hard
enough. He swapped it for a titanium clamp that should solve the
problem.

Back at home with a fixed left leg.

On the way home, we stopped at GDK (German Donar Kebab)
and grabbed some lunch to go. It was delicious.

January 10/2025

Just found out that an old friend has pancreatic cancer with
little time left. Sad day.

Home Health Care.

January 11/2025

The new tube clamp; my first part from Ossur.

Shorts day.

January 13/2025

Follow up with vascular surgeon. He was happy with the healing
(been 3 weeks); I can start putting weight on it, so no more
off-loading shoe and no need for bandages. The stitches can
come out on Friday, which will require a bandage for a day or so
as there may be some bleeding. At this point he said I no longer
need to go to Home Health Care, so I will havd that conversation
with them when I see them, and see what they say.

Back home, testing out my sneakers.

January 14/2025

Home Health Care. They agreed with my surgeon's plans, and
will re-evaluate on Friday when the stitches come out. They
may want to see me for another week or so, which is fine with me.

I get to dab this on the stitch line once a day.

January 17/2025

Westcoast Retina Consultants. Trying a different steroid in
my right eye; it is not doing as well as the left eye.

Stopped by my doctors office to get this. Was talking to him
yesterday about a referal to the Diabetes Clinic; with me losing
another toe, and my sugars are fine, I want to make sure I am
not missing something. He recommended continuous
glucose monitoring just to be sure.

Sensor installed.

Drove for the first time since the amputation. Will be going home
on Saturday.

January 17/2025

LifeLabs; diabetes & MDS bloodwork.

Home Health Care; 7 stitches removed.

January 19/2025

Moved back home; it feels so good to be back at my place. A big
thanks to my mom and dad for (once again) taking care of me
so I can focus on my healing. It makes life just a bit easier

January 20/2025

Doing my daily cleaning, and the big scab fell off.

January 21/2025

Home Health Care. Everything looks good so they don't want
to see me anymore. I just have to do my daily cleaning for
another week or so.

LifeLabs. Bloodwork for iron.

February 6/2025

Foot Solutions. They got some new models of shoes in, so I went
to see what they had. Cane home with these New Balance 1540's.

These shoes are super wide and have a large toe box. My remaining
three toes (#2, 3 & 4) are hammer-toed, with #2 being the
worse. It is showing signs of rubbing on the shoe, so hopefully
these shoes prevent or minimize that. I am now putting a
corn pad and tape on the area to (hopefully) let it heal.

Wearing them in the house for the first time.

Put some white rings on the left shoe so I can clip on my AFO.
